RM of Prince Albert’s story
The Rural Municipality of Prince Albert No. 461 became a rural municipality on December 9, 1912. It sits between the North Saskatchewan River and the South Saskatchewan River, south of the city of Prince Albert, which it surrounds.
Within its boundaries are a number of small unincorporated communities, among them Birson, Cecil, Clouston, Cudworth Junction, Davis, Fir Ridge, Halcro, Holmes, Red Deer Hill and Stanleyville.
Today the RM is known for several places of interest, including Diefenbaker House, the St. Louis Ghost Train, South Branch House and the Saskatchewan River Forks Recreation Site. Three river ferries, at Cecil, Fenton and Weldon, also serve the area.
